Tihu is a town and a town area committee in Nalbari district in the Indian state of Assam. It is also the Native Hopi term for what is commonly called the "kachina doll", although it is actually pronounced "katsina". These are useful educational tools given to Hopi children by katsinam, before their initiation into the katsina group.

As of 2001 India census[1], Tihu had a population of 4301. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Tihu has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 75%. In Tihu, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
