[edit] AMA case
Hi, I'm going to be your advocate for the case about gender references in Phat pants. Addhoc 22:03, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Fantastic, great to hear. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, but if you have a look at the editing that's been going on I think you'll get the picture. It might be a lot of work but it is in everybody's interest that some kind of resolution be reached because so far it's continuing and it keeps spreading. Thank you. - Could I suggest you have a look on the internet and find some references that support your view. For example if you could find an online magazine article that mentions that approximately equal numbers of men and women wear phat pants, this would settle the argument. - Percentage of girls wearing phat pants in Australian Rave Culture aside, I have indeed had a look on the internet and found articles that support my view. These are included as links at the bottom of the article. The argument seems to have changed from girls never wear phat pants to "well very few but anyway they're different so they don't count." This argument is disproven in a very simple point by point way with documenting links on the discussion page. Also there was additional information and spelling corrections that were added to the article to improve it that have been deleted in yet another mass, unsighted revert. ...has been put up for deletion (not by me). The more reliable sources you can add for the claims in this article, the better. Gazpacho 04:17, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Phat pants article
Right, 1. I have not removed all elements of talking about females, look at the bottom of the page. 2. You seem to be obsessed with the fact that the word 'Women' should be prominent in every picture, and mention of Phat pants. 3. You move images around so non-gender neutral images appear on top. I have contacted Wikipedia reference your continued vandalisation and attitude to working with someone to build an article. I point you to this page in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution .
I cannot understand why you have to think that all mention of women has been removed when in the links section there is plenty of references. The article is supposed to be gender neutral, end of story, why do you have this fascination of removing all referneces to 'boys' and 'men' but leaving 'women' and 'girls' in the article?
I have tried to work with you but you don't seem interested, and just want your point of view put across. Wikipedia works on NPOV. --SteelAvenger 18:23, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Phat pants article Response
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Phat_pants&diff=next&oldid=107692853 Picture of a female changed by you User:SteelAvenger to say it is incorrectly a picture of a boy. External link at bottom of article changed so that an article in which women talk about their clothing is changed to say it is an article with people talking about their clothing. External link at bottom that says "guy talking about his phat pants" however, is not changed.
2. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Phat_pants&diff=next&oldid=109398396 I have not been removing mentions of male. Also see above. Additionally see talk page where I have repeatedly listed that girls and guys wear phat pants.
3. Better, clearer picture is at the top of the article so people can see what the article is about. A reasonable person with no gender issues would not have a problem with there being a really good photo of a human being (regardless of their gender) wearing a pair of pants. If you insist on there being one boy for every girl, then keep the lower quality picture.
4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/SteelAvenger You have not reported me as a vandal. This is yet another threatening lie on your part deliberately designed to harrass me.
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Nina Simone At Town Hall.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Nina Simone At Town Hall.jpg.
