Tiger and the Duke is the first album by the progressive rock band The Sound of Animals Fighting.
It is a concept album revolving around the title character, Duke, and the Captain who runs the ship they are sailing. The cargo of the ship are crazy animals who howl and fight below the deck. Eventually the Captain's sons start a mutiny in which the Captain jumps off the ship.
On October 12th, 2006 a bulletin was posted on the band's myspace page stating that "Tiger and the Duke" is officially out of print.
The album was reissued via Equal Vision Records on June 26, 2007. The reissue will feature all tracks remixed, with new interludes, and new artwork and packaging along with eight remixes from Lover, The Lord Has Left Us....[1]

[edit] Additional Notes
- This album received very little publicity or promotion, but quickly amassed significant popularity due to word of mouth, the internet, and the existing fanbase of the individual performers.
- The reading in the background of "Act III" is adapted from Chapter 4 of the Peter Pan novel written by James M. Barrie.
- The Reissue contains all of the original tracks off Tiger and the Duke except the Postlude remixed and remastered.
- The artwork for the re-release was hand painted by Dredg bassist Drew Roulette, who, along with his brother Beau, pieced the layout together in the form that you see today.
