Tiger (dog actor)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tiger (d. 1969) was a mixed-breed dog performer owned by Lou Scumacher and trained by Joe Hornok. He appeared in the television show The Brady Bunch and in the 1975 film A Boy and His Dog.

During the filming of the first season episode "Katchoo" of The Brady Bunch, Tiger was hit by a florist delivery truck on the studio lot and was killed.[1] Various replacement dogs briefly appeared, but none of them worked out and the character was retired midway through the series' second season.

An in-joke regarding this incident appeared in A Very Brady Sequel where a dog resembling Tiger appears briefly, runs off camera and the Brady children hear the sound of screeching car tires. Bobby and Cindy briefly remark on what just happened, then go about their business as though nothing happened.
