[edit] Location

The article currently says that Tigranakert was near Silvan. But a quick search seems to show that this is still controversial, and that other candidate sites are Arzan (Erzurum) and Kızıltepe. See Thomas A. Sinclair, "The site of Tigranocerta (I)" Revue des Études Arméniennes 25:183 (1994-95). Either way, the article could use some good scholarly sources instead of random Web sites. --Macrakis 23:09, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Considering the abundance of Western scholarly sources concerning this ancient megapolis the article is in a sad state.-- Ευπάτωρ Talk!! 23:31, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Incorrect photo

Remember that there were 4 cities called "Tigranakert." The picture on this page shows recent excavations in Artsakh, where archaeologists believe they found one of the four Tigranakerts. This picture is about a wrong Tigranakert. Verjakette 20:40, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
