Tiers (Tires) (Italian: Tires; German: Tiers; Archaic (1080 AD): Tires; Latin: Terra) is a comune (municipality) in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 50 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 15 km east of the city of Bolzano (de: Bozen). As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 919 and an area of 42.1 km².[1]
Tiers (Tires) borders the following municipalities: , Kastelruth (Castelrotto), Karneid (Cornedo all'Isarco), Völs am Schlern (Fiè allo Sciliar), Welschnofen (Nova Levante), Campitello di Fassa, Mazzin, and Pozza di Fassa.
