Tidyman's was founded in 1968 when Jim Tidyman and Bob Buchannan opened their first warehouse supermarket in Spokane, Washington. In 1986, employees purchase the company, which has about 10 stores. In 1998, Tidyman's was sold to Supervalu. Tidyman's retains ownership of 12 stores and adds eight Supervalu stores in Montana known as County Market and Dissmore's IGA in Pullman, Washington.
