The Tiberina Republic (Italian: Repubblica Tiberina) was proclaimed on 4 February 1798, when republicans took power in the city of Perugia. It was a French client republic that took its name from the river Tiber. In 1799 it was merged with the Roman Republic. Its head was a consul and it used the French flag.
