Talk:TI Taxi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've lived on Thursday Island (TI) for a short period of time.

Before I arrived, I read up on the place before hand and there's only about 6 kilometres of road way on the island, it's not a big place. So to say I was surprised to find a taxi service on the island, is an understatement.

To say I'm surprised that they can make a television series about a taxi services on such a small patch of land is amazing.

...but it is a funny place. I saw people with $70,000 four wheel drive vehicles driving around town. What the heck, you've got 6 klm of road way for goodness sake and theres not even a proper registration requirement for vehicles on the island.

I was getting around in a 40 year old jeep and I only used that to put my boat in and out of the water.

The pub across the road from the post office has very very nice, crisp fish and chips. TI, a place considered to be a remote town, the service and everything at the pub was top shelf. 124.189.48.13 (talk) 02:14, 5 April 2008 (UTC)Ian Cameron
