[edit] Adagio For Strings duration

Searching in most digital databases I keep getting that Tiësto's Adagio For Strings is 7:23 long while Wikipedia says it's 5:57. I just wanted to know if 5:57's the real duration of the track or are there remixes of that song I haven't noticed? Thanks. Punkalicious 01:06, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

I assume you mean for the Parade of the Athletes album...yes it is 5:57, it is a mixed album. [1] Music Brainz will confirm it. --DJREJECTED 10:09, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lists

Do we really need tracklistings under some articles? They have there own pages. The information seems to be redundant and make this page overly list-heavy. Danski14 23:05, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

I totally agree, makes the page look like garbage. --DJREJECTED 23:37, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
I took the liberty of taking the tracklists out: if a reader wishes to see the tracklisting of the CDs, they can visit the page. Hope I've been of some assistance. Punkalicious 14:02, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Great, yeah, it looks much better now. Danski14 00:29, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] A new remix?

I attended a Tiësto concert recently and I heard a remix of The Diary Of Jane by Breaking Benjamin...is there any info on the music databases? Punkalicious 01:19, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Different Picture?

Anyone think this could do with a different picture? Its not exactly a great one of him. I dont mind having a look for a decent one that would be usable, just wondering what ppl thought. John.n-irl 12:05, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

I agree, that's a horrible pic. Lancaster 14:03, 02 August 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 20:03, August 2, 2007 75.200.54.202 (talk)
Can we change it to this one? Image:DJ_Tiesto2005.jpg. Its already in the article. EricEttensohn 18:14, 2 August 2007 (UTC)EricEttensohn

[edit] Discography

DJ Tiësto's discography is getting out of hand, can someone port it to its own article? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by GBobly (talkcontribs) 14:40, 29 April 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Contributions to Grando Espada

I've heard word that he's helped and created many of the tracks in the MMO. You have to admit, the similarities are close and very adrenaline inducing. Can someone find further evidence of this and add it? I'm sure it'd help him and the game he created content for.

Forgot to add my signature. 20:58, 27 May 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zhanghia (talkcontribs)

I've found an interview where Tiësto is credited with at least one of the tracks, the wikipedia article on Granado Espada mentions more than one so if someone could find out how more of his work got onto the website, I'm only saying the one due to it's the only article with a source I'm far sure he's done more than just 'one'. 10:28, 28 May 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.64.111.150 (talk)

Also, erm, I don't know how to find the references besides the page where the article is so I'm just going to add it there. You guys'll clean up after me, right? :3 11:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zhanghia (talkcontribs)

Anyway, I added it. It seems there's a 1 stuck at the bottom of the reference page. Blargh. Sorry guys, I'm really really new to this. I really wanted to help so I hope you don't think I'm a vandal. :/ So, yeah, I don't want to muck it any more than it already has. Sorry again. 11:29, 28 May 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zhanghia (talkcontribs)

[edit] New Mix Compilation??

For a long time, there's been a mix compilation at the bottom of the list called "Negeri". Is Tiësto really coming out with that? I can't find a mention of it anywhere else on the internet. Considering his stature, I'm sure that if this album really was going to come out, it would find a mention in at least the top twenty results of a Google search for "Tiësto negeri". There's no such mention, and as such, I've removed it from the list.122.164.1.177 21:31, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Haven't heard anything about it. -- DJREJECTED 12:10, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2007 tour Dates

Okay to many dates have been put on the site, I vote to remove this as there really is no need for it. -- GoDawgs 22:25, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Good idea. It shouldn't have become a list like this in the first place. __meco 06:41, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Updates

So, does anyone have an update to the whole Fans Disappointed thing? Because I seem to recall Tiësto was found to have been telling the truth, but there's nothing in the news about it. 129.21.114.185 17:13, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

I recall reading a few blog entries vindicating Tiësto and confirming that he was telling the truth, but other than that, nothing official enough to merit a line in his wikipedia page. It's somewhat of a shame, because it's a blemish on Tiësto's reputation that really shouldn't be there, but until a more credible source comes forth to print a story vindicating Tiësto, we really can't add any more to the "Fans Dissapointed" story. --Dragnilar (talk) 09:00, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] GA failed

  • (YesY) The image in the infobox could do with a greater description
  • (YesY) Image:Tiesto elements of life tour.jpg needs a better fair use rationale
  • (YesY) Most of the refs are simply URLs - need formatting ({{cite web}} style recommended)
  • (YesY) "1999–2004: Tiësto Solo / Tiësto In Concert / DJ Magazine" section unsourced.
  • (YesY) "2004–2007: 2004 Olympics Opening Ceremony / Tiësto In Concert US" - Only one ref
  • (YesY) The section headings are generally way too long and detailed - try and make them summarise the section better
  • (YesY) "Tiësto has contributed at least one song to the MMORPG Granado Espada. [25]" - Put this in a paragraph or something, and remove the space before the ref
  • (YesY) Far too many ELs, not all necessary

If you have any questions, please leave a note on my talk page. Cheers, Dihydrogen Monoxide 05:17, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] lawlh4xtrancen00bz

I dare say, by Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This article is written by amateurs in the dance scene, you bloody Yanks. I have noticed a couple of times that the editors have no working knowledge of the difference between a 'DJ' and a 'producer', also, nothing but praise for this one man who has grown to become the icon of detest and everything that went wrong with trance in the past decade, by Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, find some sources that slate this awful chap and cite them here. I'll say you bloody Yanks. I am just an emo kid who listens obscure, oh so obscure black metal and I know better than you. Now if grace permit, excuse me, it is tea time I have just learnt. Good Lord you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.84.222.243 (talk) 19:01, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

So...you want more criticism of Tiësto? Or do you just want to express frustration? Not sure what to do with that. Crazy coyote (talk) 04:07, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Olympics Minor Correction

Forst DJ to perform live on stage. There were many other DJ's before him which performed in the backgrounds of the Olympic Games. And, Tiesto was first DJ to perform on stage but, not the first DJ to perform at the Olympics. Olympic Committee hires the best DJs for figure skating and prior and closing songs to an events. And, performs for the parties for the Olympians. So not the first performer, but first performer on stage publicly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.101.163.144 (talk) 11:55, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] GA On Hold

After reviewing the article, I believe the article makes the GA requirements for the most part. However, there are some minor issues, and instead of failing the article, I am instead going to put the article on hold for a week to allow for the issues to be corrected. If/when the issues are corrected, feel free to contact me on my talk page, and I'll take another look, and if I see all of my concerns have been corrected, I will pass the article.

Here's a checklist of issues I would like to see resolved before I pass the article:

  • (YesY) Source 11, the MySpace reference, is not a reliable source. Remove it immediately and replace the citation with a reliable source.
  • (YesY) Take out the external link for The Spock from the text. If you really want the link to the site to stay, then please put it in the External links section.
  • (YesY) Fix the references which are marked as external numbered links in the references section. Once again, a reference template can fix that.
  • (YesY) I think the Main article link to Tiesto's Club Life might be in the wrong spot, so you might want to look into that.
  • (YesY) I want to see author, publisher, accessdate, and other info on every source other than just a title or url. It really helps with referencing. While it's not necessary to use a reference template, I highly recommend that you use the {{cite web}} template to better cite all of this information. For more information, you might want to take a look at WP:CITET.
  • (YesY)Some paragraphs are very light on sourcing. I would like to see those paragraphs better sourced. You can always reuse your references for this.
  • (YesY)Take another look over all of the references and make sure they are reliable and that they all have copyright information on the page.

Also, just take another look over the article and make any other changes you feel are possible. Thanks. Red Phoenix (Talk) 22:26, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Much better, guys, I am now going to pass the article. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 18:47, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Potential Vandalism

The second paragraph of the article contains the following sentence in Spanish: "huele a cagada y le gusta los pitos y tambien fue affiliado kon todos los pitos del mundo mamandoselos a todos asi k kuando kieres una mamadita hablale a tiesto"

Which translates to "smells like shit, likes dicks and was also affiliated with all the penises of the world, sucking all of them, so when you need a blow job call tiesto"

Im quite sure this incoherence should not be here.

Bollain (talk) 19:41, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for catching this. It's been reverted now. – FISDOF9 20:24, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
