Talk:Thundera

This page needs expansion.
Mumm-Ra & Third Earth, which have redirect pages to the Thundercats page, should have separate pages. Someone with DVDs should catalogue all 3E locations and what facts are provided about its history and group divisions (Amazon Women, Walrus People "on a continent on the other side of the ocean", the Snowman's people, the Berbils, Darkside, and so on) and use it to update the page.
There should also be a page on New Thundera, how it was formed (by Mumm-Ra) and discussing its fragile geology and its moons- the five Moons of Plundarr. I don't have any of the series' DVDs and am working off of memory from 2000-1 when Cartoon Network aired the series, but Mumm-Ra reformed New Thundera from the fragments of old Thundera (the Snarfs seemed to survive on a fragment that had an atmosphere [wherever Snarfer came from] while the rest of the Thunderans engaged in a diaspora and slowly started filtering back in Season 4 [e.g. "Leah", "Well of Doubt"]) to get the Treasure of Thundera. He even built a parallel Black Pyramid in some desert there (it was only around in Season 3) to operate out of. The Moons each influenced a specific point on New Thundera's surface, creating an ecosystem which resembles one of the Lunatak's themes (the moons did not orbit, they had fixed points).
There were 5 Moons, they were called: The First Moon of Plundarr, the Second Moon of Plundarr, the Dark Moon of Plundarr (no number provided), and 2 moons that were never named. They may have been numbered by size since the first 2 were (I think) larger than the other ones. Each moon had a different color. The 1st and 2nd Moons- one corresponded with Tugmug (Gravity), one with Chilla (Cold). One was colored a bluish-gray color (Tugmug's), the other was more of a lighter blue (Chilla's). The Dark Moon was either black or midnight blue. The moon was seen in one of Season 4's episodes (the one with the Shadowlord).
A quick table:
Moon Name- Moon Color- Lunatak from it- Influence- New Thunderan location influenced
1st or 2nd Moon of Plundarr- bluish-gray- Tugmug- intense gravity- Mountains of the Moon
2nd or 1st Moon of Plundarr- light blue- Chilla- intense cold- Caverns of Cold (??) [name may not be accurate]
Dark Moon of Plundarr- midnight blue or black- Redeye- thick darkness- Jungles of Darkness
The other 2 moons were seen in the background, but we never saw their area. One of the other 2 moons was a light purple color and one was an orange color. One of these would correspond with Alluro, one would correspond with Luna & Amok. If I remember correctly, one was over a desert area.
It should also be noted these 5 Moons are dead worlds, with no signs of ecosystems or civilization. We know the Lunataks came from the Moons of Plundarr and were a legendary group of pirates who terrorized the inhabitants of Plundarr (the lizard, jackal, monkey, vulture, rat, frog, etc-men we have seen in the series). That would infer the moons lost their atmospheres and civilizations sometime between the Lunatak's mission to 3rd Earth and the living memory of the current Mutants and Thunderans. The habitats they recreate on New Thundera's surface are ghosts of the environments the Lunataks developed in. Someone somewhere (I know, that sounds really bad) talked about Redeye being from a jungle area based on his feet and posture and his specialty vision (good for penetrating the darkness of a jungle with a very thick canopy that let in very little light), Alluro being from a desert area (based on having large ears to radiate off heat, like jackrabbits, not to mention the long lanky limbs to provide a larger surface area: volume ratio). Speculation should be kept to a minimum obviously, but there is a definate inference between the moon's former habitat and the habitat of the area influenced.
Also, Thundera had purple skies and New Thundera was often featured with purple skies, though sometimes it was featured with blue skies (I suspect the animators forgot which planet they were on).
