[edit] Realistic goal

I'd like to see this article get to Good article status by this year's event. I think we'll see a spike of edits at that time, and presumably, readers. Plus it's good to have goals anyway. I think we're close, the main thing we need is a bit of cleanup, references, and maybe some more pictures (especially non-fair use ones, if anyone happens to have some floating around). I'll be making a few passes through the article in the near future. --W.marsh 22:10, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

I agree, and I'll be looking for any images--Dp462090 22:30, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Well, I've found a picture, but I'm having trouble finding a place for it, it's just that the article is too short for two pictures, so if anyone can find a place for it.--Dp462090 22:44, 13 March 2006 (UTC) Edit: found a spot, and another picture.--Dp462090 01:48, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Ultimately I'd like to have free images in the article (e.g. ones we've taken ourselves and released under the GPL or into public domain). Of course given the difficulty of night photography and the nature of the event, it might be hard to get quality pictures under those licenses. Also, I'm trying to get attendance totals up, which I think is useful. A bit more information about the scale and technical side of the show might be good, too, and its impact on the community, and its role in the festival. Just some ideas... I'll probably get around to it eventually. --W.marsh 02:01, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
  • I'll help as best as I can, being an expatriate of Kentucky now editing a newspaper just outside of Birmingham, Alabama. Boy, was I homesick for Thunder this year!. Realkyhick 15:10, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

I remember reading that the fireworks have permanently scared away a huge migrant bird population that used to be around Shiipingport. Are there any sources we could find to back this up?--Bedford 15:21, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 2007 theme

the 2007 theme for thunder has not yet been announced. The "Go For The Magic" theme is for the KDF in general. Thunder will likely have a similar them, but we don't know yet. [1] Jcembree 19:20, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
