"Three Little Birds" is a song by Bob Marley & The Wailers from their 1977 album Exodus. It is one of Bob Marley's most popular songs. The single was released in 1980 and reached the Top 20 in England, peaking at number 17.

The three "Little Birds" referenced by Marley were the Wailers' three backing vocalists, the I Threes, consisting of Marcia Griffiths, Judy Mowatt, and Bob Marley's wife Rita.

The song was later remade by Ziggy Marley, one of Bob Marley's sons.

The video clip sees a young girl make her way through the street while carrying a television showing images of Bob Marley, while hand-drawn images of birds and lyrics to the song flash by on screen. The ending has the girl pretending to drive a car which has no tires.

[edit] In Popular Culture

The song "Three Little Birds" is one of the songs featured in the 2007 movie I Am Legend. Coincidentally , Will Smith sings the song both in Shark Tale and I Am Legend. However, the song appears in strikingly contrasting contexts. In Shark Tale, Smith sings the song in a light-hearted, feel-good manner, while in I Am Legend, the song has bittersweet undertones, as Smith's character (the last man alive in New York City) sings the song to newly found friends. He also sings this song to his dog, Sam, as a way to convince himself that his bleak and hopeless attempts to cure the vampiric population will work.
