Threat From Outer Space is a Vancouver, B.C. based music group. TFOS blend hip hop, funk, jazz, rock, dub, spoken word, pop, drum'n'bass, and a myriad of other styles to create their signature sound. Their music has been described as bomb beat, anti pop, new school funk and rock'n'roll hip hop. The group formed in 1997 with Tameem Barakat, Dennis Chan, Matt Creed and Jon Arason. After several personnel changes, the group's current line up consists of Tameem Barakat, Dennis Chan, Matt Creed, Ryan Cranston and Kristian Naso. The latest album from the quintet is called 'Bleeding the Dying Elephant'. The album is the group's sixth effort and first long player. The first single is called 'We Like To Fight'.
Threat From Outer Space has toured nationally and more recently internationally. There is a growing expectation that TFOS could be the 'next big thing' as the street buzz grows around the forthcoming album. It is already being dubbed a "vintage classic" by the early reviews.
