Talk:Three Links

[edit] Expressway?
In 2004, Beijing declared an cross-strait expressway project linking Beijing to Taipei connecting the two sides of the Taiwan Straits together. However, due to the potential unrealistic technical difficulties, Taipei considers this move as a political propaganda.

Hmm...not Taipei considering this move as propaganda...it is do-able. The main opponents are the Pan-Green Coalition.
[edit] background?
this needs a small amount of background, explaining why the links between the two countries are so. i'm aware of a dispute between the countries, but couldn't really say what it is due to, or why it still exists in 2007. Inzy 19:57, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Pending Economic Crisis
Anyone else think the free-travel part of this plan would completely DESTROY the economy in Taiwan? Massive number of manual labor AND college graduates will move into Taiwan, further worsening the unemployeement problems. Population density will explode, and living cost will increase. Has there been any indepth research on the possible effects of opening up the borders? Ssh83 (talk) 22:16, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- There should be some articles on this. I only recall reading articles claiming there will not be much of an effect either way. Anyway, how is the opening of these links going to cause "massive labour influx"?? Aren't they only going to open up the market to tourists, and not the labour market?--Huaiwei (talk) 17:08, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
