Anthology: Through the Years is a double compilation album featuring the best of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' MCA recordings plus a newly recorded version of "Surrender", an unreleased song dating back to 1977.
Anthology: Through the Years was released on October 31st 2000 and would mark the worst chart-positioning on the Billboard 200 for the band at #132. However, in November of 2006, the album would be certified Gold (equilvalent to 500,000 copies sold) by the R.I.A.A.
