[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:EldoradoCheer.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:EldoradoCheer.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] List of United States cities by population
The population estimates for all of the cities are from 2006. This source is where the population number was found. If Albuquerque's population is updated, then all of the cities would have to be updated and we do not have statistics for all of them. I've reverted your edits. Thanks. [edit] RE: Albuquerque
That is called VANDALISM....
WikiDon (talk) 06:59, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- When the 75.161.36.138 (talk · contribs) changed "30" to "40"...that is called vandalism. They just get their kicks by doing such things. Like tagging buildings with spray paint. Consider it "virtual tagging". ~ WikiDon (talk)
[edit] Hi.
Just saying hello, since we're sort of neighbors—I live in Española. —JerryFriedman (Talk) 04:28, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, Tom! The camera does all the work (automatic focus, exposure, anti-shake). I just point it. And then I rotate the image with the GIMP, since I always seem to tilt the camera.
- I've been following what's going on at the Chimayo article, and I think you're going to have to let Nyttend have his or her way on "official name" for a while. There's a source for "CDP", and no one's found a source for "town". The thing to do is find a source for "Town of Chimayo", maybe the Sun or something from the town commissioners. Or a source for the legal definition of "town" in New Mexico. Then there could be a really interesting discussion. But if you keep putting "town of" in without a source, someone will get called in to referee and they'll side with the source.
- Anyway, I'm glad there's someone else here working on northern New Mexican articles! —JerryFriedman (Talk) 05:16, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
-
- Yeah, I teach at SFCC. I taught at Northern for eight years, and I still know a few people there, but they never came up with a full-time job for me.
- I saw at your user page that you're at the big school. That means it will probably be easier for me to look up back issues of the Rio Grande Sun than for you. But I'm not going to be able to do it right away.
- Good luck with the poli sci! Does that mean I'm going to see your name on an election poster the next time we need a "young guard"? —JerryFriedman (Talk) 03:05, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Teaching is a great gig, I've got to admit.
- Snow? Who ordered snow? —JerryFriedman (Talk) 04:43, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Ya city planning well were moving to the new city offices thtank god..but ya i do census and city grouth projects the ACS planning division is wierd cuz u have engineers and census workers and all kinds of other stuff.. its a fun job tho and the sandia labs i work with my uncle twice a week there and i go to school 3 times a week so i have lots of free time except for mondays-thursdays haha. hahhaha stop and eat is sooooooo good OMG! i love it but my favorite local place was parasol ...mmmmm there juicy tacos!
TomSalazar Chat?! 8:36 MT, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
I've never eaten there, I usually just stick to Stop-n-Eat. Were you on cheer squad at Espanola? I ask for 2 reasons, you seem to know alot about them and Leo Jaramillo their coach is my homeboy. I've known the dude for a while. In fact, he asked and I went to see his squad the first day of their competition.--Taostiger (talk) 02:41, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
No i played varsity basktball, track and cross country thats about it..but i while i was at evhs i got to know mostly everyone and ya i know lots and lots about that school and i have some friends that were on the cheer squad and i know leo too hahah..but it was disapointing we took 4th i thought we were at least gunna take runner-up beacuse that cheer this year was better than last years! and last year we took runners up, but i think its cuz two girls fell dammit!
TomSalazar Chat?! 8:53 MT, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Hmmmm.....a jock? Me too, I played football and ran track. I gotta hand it to your x-country runs, I HATED practice with them, it ALWAYS kicked my ass. Yeah, Leo was all disappointed cause they fell, but they bounced back. He has ALOT of patience with the kids. I like him he's a real cool dude. Speaking of jock or in my case wanna-be, I'm gonna get my fat buns out there and jog with a friend of mine in a bit at UNM. I eat way too much Stop-n-Eat and other things that I need to this....he he. So, if I don't get a chance to reply you know why. Thanks for letting me play at your house for once.....lol. Keep in touch, oh yeah and BE NICE, OK? he he --Taostiger (talk) 03:05, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Ya i was sorta a jock..i had a jacket full of patches and pins haha. When i was in cross country at Espanola it was so rough man.. we would run non-stop everyday Morning and after school! Up those hills on the back of the school it was murder but we took third my sophomore year and junior and senior year we took second, we could never get the championship we were so damn close!! but it was so fun man and basketball too we won districts twice and made it to the quarterfinals. And hahaha my favorite place to eat is wendy's the #4 hahah or Long John Silvers lol!!
TomSalazar Chat?! 9:44 MT, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Sounds like you eat more of the junk food than me....very impressive. Where in ABQ u live?--Taostiger (talk) 04:52, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

TomSalazar Chat?! 11:38 MT, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, Denver is nice, but mucho cold in the winter. Anyways, my friend. The novelty of this place is sooooo over. Only reason I came into this place is cause of the extra credit with the kids. Let me know if you wanna keep in touch outside of this and I can send ya my email. --Taostiger (talk) 05:54, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Use of non-free image on your user page
The university logo you are using on your user page is a non-free image that is present for fair use purposes as explained on the page for the image (the one you get to by clicking on the image). It isn't suitable for use on your user page. That is why another user removed that image. I'm not going to remove it myself because you may be right about whether or not it was appropriate for somebody else to edit your user page (I'm not sure). I do think you need to remove that image, though. Erechtheus (talk) 00:23, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- I should have notified you of the policy violation and simply asked you to remove the image from your user page. For that breach of etiquette, I apologize. You have now been informed, and I'll reiterate that the relevant policy is WP:Nonfree, which states that nonfree images may only be used in articles, that is they are not allowed on user pages. I am now asking you to please remove the image. Aleta Sing 00:41, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Done-The userbox was using the image i had no clue however, i removed it.. :] ThomasSalazar
[edit] Yearbook image
Hi Tom, to answer your question: no one's disputing that you took the photo. The problem is that the yearbook cover itself is subject to copyright, and you aren't able to release that under a CC-license. (Presumably the school owns that copyright.) You can discuss it further at the PUI image page where the image is listed. Aleta Sing 03:57, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- oh..ok well i know the person who designed the front and i dont think there is a copyright for it. TomSalazar Chat?! 10:03 MT, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think there automatically is under US law - you don't have to claim your copyright for it to exist; rather you specifically have to give it up. The image could probably (?) be used as fair-use, but not released under CC unless the school releases it that way. I suggest any further conversation about this take place at the link I gave you as we've now pretty much plumbed the depths of my copyright knowledge, and at PUI are people who know much more about it. Aleta Sing 04:10, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- Just giving some plain advice on two two possibilities that will get the image kept:
- Claim that the image cover is fair use. I don't know if that'll keep it from getting deleted since the yearbook is only given minimally mentioned in the article. If you want to do this, just ask, and I'll add all the correct tags. Like I said though, I don't know if it'll keep it from getting deleted.
- or, get the designer of the cover to release it freely, as described at WP:COPYREQ.
- If you need help with this or have other questions, feel free to ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions --Rat at WikiFur (talk) 09:57, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to 2008 New Mexico Congressional Election, District 3. Your edits appeared to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. - Tom - my two cents: start the talk page for this site Talk:2008 New Mexico Congressional Election, District 3, and start a discussion about the reverts and changes. I'm sure you have your reasons, and I'm sure the other editors have theirs - you all just need to bring them into alignment. --Ludwigs2 (talk) 20:55, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Wow, you've really been going to town brushing up New Mexico High Schools. You even provided a comprehensive list of every state title to the LAHS page. This is dedicated service above and beyond the call of duty. Greg Comlish (talk) 03:06, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
