Hi, I don't know from where you've read that but I must laugh at your nonsense and I will hahahahahahaha.I don't know where are you from but I know for my self I come from KUMANOVO and I have been in the house of Hristian Todorovski-Karposh and I really know much more about my city than you.I really must correct you about Karposh. He is not partisan and his uprising was in 1689 and there is no way that he was in WWII.(but if you think that 1689 is WWII you must read the history again!!!!!).

Hi, My problem with it was the really low level of english in it, making it nearly impossible to understand. Also, if you search Karposh on the Wikipedia search, you will see where I took the information from. There have been several Karposh. I hope you will at the very least improve the english in the section you insist on having because it is not well written or grammatically correct. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pulvis angelus (talk • contribs)

Hi Thomas, I don't think I have a problem with my english, but if you think so please do not change the whole section of Kaposh just correct me and I'll see where I make mistakes.I've realized that we talk about different Karposh. Please accept my apologies for beeing so rude I was irritated because you've changed my text.

[edit] Concerning Sekou Toure
If you don't like the way I added my statement that is fine but it is not my personal opinion and can in fact be found in the third reference article: "Certes, les horreurs du camp Boiro, où souffrirent et périrent au nom de la révolution des milliers de prisonniers politiques, ne sont pas oubliées." "L'ambivalence est partout chez cet homme aux deux visages : dictateur sanguinaire qui a poussé la délation, la torture et la répression jusqu'à en faire un système de gouvernement." If you feel better equipped to reference this text and make this addition be my guest but I would like to see a reference to the humanitarian pitfalls of this man's nationalist campaign other than a brief mention of voter fraud.
[edit] Re: Patriots
That game was incredible!!! Thanks for the good job. I'm trying to keep his thing as up-to-date as I can. He needs all the support he can get. What "Drew" acquisition? Bledsoe or J.D.???? I'm in Alaska so i don't get a lot of the New England gossip going around
- I've heard rumbles that they want to get him. I hope that they do. The Sox need as much of an improvement in the outfield as they can get especially if Trot is leavingPharos04
[edit] AJ Suggs
From here on out, I'd suggest that you post in the discussion tab before you simply nominate an article for deletion. Thanks and sorry your AFD attempt was so vehemently blocked. I wouldn't have minded defending the article. Excaliburhorn 13:14, 26 Feb. 2007 (UTC)
- I find it funny that you use "player who lacks notability" when talking about Suggs when you've created articles about similarly notable players (eg. Palmer). So goes irony. I guess AJ lacks notability because he played for two BCS squads while Palmer started for an underachieving Midmajor. We need to make sure that we wikify Lester Ricard and Martin Hankins but AfD Justin Zwick. Excaliburhorn 15:27, 26 Feb. 2007 (UTC)
- I think our criteria are just different. You see NFL potential and draft stock as notability. I see success on the college gridiron as notability. AJ quarterbacked toe-to-toe with Philip Rivers, Matt Schaub, and Adrian McPherson (all drafted) but he would go undrafted. It's all perspective. You care more about the pro game (I guess) and I care more about the college game. That's why wikipedia has deemed collegiate football players justifiably notable:
- Sportspeople/athletes/competitors who have played in a fully professional league, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport such as swimming, or at the highest level in mainly amateur sports or other competitive activities that are themselves considered notable, including college sports in the United States.
- We had problems with Europeans deleting college football players yet allowing minor league soccer players into Wikification so this policy was made.Excaliburhorn 17:54, 26 Feb. 2007 (UTC)

[edit] FYI, credit where credit is due.
Dear Thomas,
Please note the exchange below. It is relevant to your entry for Beth Edmonds. I thought it would interest you.
All the Best, Mitch
Dear Roger,
I appreciate the credit, but it is only indirectly due to me at best. I did reference Beth as a "Notable Inhabitant" of Freeport, Maine in April of 2006. That was my contribution, and then Thomas McMillan (who I do not know personally, only as a wikipedia editor) came along and created a page for Beth Edmonds to link to the Freeport entry in July of 2006.
Wikipedia is quite sensitive to bias, and where edits are coming from based on IP addresses. Corrections to politicians wiki entries from IP addresses of their staff are generally frowned upon (although quite common I understand).

I do believe people who are searching for information on local politicians should be able to find it on Wikipedia.

[edit] Zanzibar and Africa in topic template
Hello I don't want to discount Zanzibarian nationalism nor the unique history of Zanzibar, but if it is included, then why not the Rif, Orange Free State, Cabinda, Biafra, etc.? -Justin (koavf)·T·C·M 15:11, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- Statehood While it is true that Zanzibar was once a state, that is also the case for dozens and dozens of territories within Africa; to add all of them to the template would be impossible. -Justin (koavf)·T·C·M 22:25, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- Puntland, etc. The territories of Somalis are on the map because they are actually self-governing (not as autonomous entities in federacies, but like sovereign states.) Your point is well-taken, though. We should probably carry on this discussion at the talk page of the template itself. -Justin (koavf)·T·C·M 01:13, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

For this category I believe the term 'African American Loyalists' should be used as the category heading and also as the name of the article. I have researched many different sources and there is no doubt Black Loyalists were not Nova Scotians but were in fact Black Americans; most of them coming from our Southern United States. African American Loyalist better defines the ethnicity and does not broadly term all blacks as loyalists. The term I am recommending is one which has been used by others. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiaddict8962 (talk • contribs) 18:23, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] == Malawi New Pages ==
Hi there; I have been patrolling NewPages today and I noticed you were creating many one-line "articles" about Malawi politicians, some of whom seemed to have served but a very short while and have nothing else of note about them on the page. Your edit summaries refer to a "main page". I have gone loooking, but can't seem to find the source. It would help me to be able to look at the main article. Could I have a link to it please? Bielle (talk) 23:58, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your quick response. The list at Rulers.org is not considered to be a reliable source. You may be doing a lot of work, only to have all these new pages "Speedy Deleted" because either the people are not notable or their mere existence is not reliably sourced. There are many government articles on Malawi already. Might you not be better to include these people in lists under one of them? Bielle (talk) 00:17, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
-
- (I just had a whole paragragh disappear because the Wikipedia servers were "too busy". I shall try again.) The article Rulers.org is tagged for lacking verifiable sources. In fact, its only reference is the company's website. (I am somewhat surprised it has not been speedied itself.) Currently, your new articles have no sources listed; that's why I asked the original question. If your source is going to be a website whose own reliability cannot be verified, in spite of the claims in the article, it may not be acceptable as a source for your new pages. [edit] Notability of ambassadors
You argued in a summary of an edit to Ana Maria Teles Carreira that all ambassadors are inherently notable under WP:BIO, as they qualify as politicians who have held international office. But is that what is meant by "held international office"? I think of the latter as meaning former officials of the United Nations or League of Nations. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:51, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Certainly nobody is trying to start an edit war. I'm just trying to clarify this, as I fear that your standard would make a corps of 40-50,000 or more present, and many tens of thousands of past, ambassadors, automatically "notable" in defiance of the facts. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:25, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

You reverted my edit to this article as vandalism. Please explain to me how my addition of a single word, "nomadic," to the article is vandalism. This adjective carries no negative connotations and explains Alain Nkong accurately. м info 04:03, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- No big deal, you took the meanings as a literal nomad, whereas I meant more like "well-traveled" as he has played in Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, and South America, which is very rare for a player. м info (talk) 02:34, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:AselAsleh.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:AselAsleh.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 19:27, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

There is an image on Wikimedia Commons under the same that's showing through. If you need anything done to the image, you will need a Commons admin to help you. east.718 at 17:13, December 18, 2007
- I took a closer look and it seems that I messed up and missed your notice that the image was your own work. Next time you fix up the description for an image, it's OK to remove the warning tag yourself. The deletion is a non-issue though, since all Wikimedia projects can use the image now. :-) east.718 at 17:16, December 18, 2007
[edit] can we stop playing pingpong?
Thomas Macmillan,
I've been working on the entry on "Zainab Bangura," the Sierra Leonean human rights advocate.
You made several editorial changes on that entry which I found helpful and went along with. But we've been going back and forth on one point: You keep making a potential entry out of "Women Organized for a Morally Englightened Nation" and I keep taking away the double parentheses [[ ]].
W.O.M.E.N. was a very transitory phenomenon in Sierra Leone and is not considered important by Sierra Leoneans themselves. Indeed, very few people even remember the existence of that organization, and I can assure you that no one will come forward to complete the entry on it. Its main importance is that it was Mrs. Bangur's first step into national politics.
But the organization that Mrs. Bangura's founded next -- the Campaign for Good Governance -- has become a longstanding institution in Sierra Leone, and therefore should be a potential Wiki entry, as you have indicated. I know this because I was living in Sierra Leone when the events described in the "Zainab Bangura" entry actually took place.
I'm going to take away the parentheses once again from the W.O.M.E.N. reference in the entry. Can we stop playing ping-pong on that point? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.126.177.251 (talk) 05:34, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Thomas Macmillian,
I've started the "Campaign for Good Governance" (CGG) entry at your suggestion.
And we're playing pingpong again.
Initially, I decided not to make potential entries out of three of the names listed in the "Campaign" entry: "Abdul Tejan-Cole," "Olayinka Creighton-Randall," and "Valnora Edwin."
But after you put the double brackets xxx on all three of them, it seemed to me that making "Abdul Tejan-Cole" an entry was justified. After Tejan-Cole was the coordinator of CGG, he went on to become a public figure in Sierra Leone. In fact, he was just recently named to head the government's Anti-Corruption Commission. So I left the brackets on Tejan-Cole.
But the other two coordinators for CGG -- Olayinka Creighton-Randall and Valnora Edwin -- are young professional people who have not yet become important figures in Sierra Leone's public life. They are just that -- young professionals.
I don't think that any encyclopedia needs an entry on every single person mentioned in its articles. And anyone who knows Sierra Leone's public life knows that Creighton-Randall and Edwin are not yet important figures in that country. Their careers are still in their early stages.
As for your bracketing the word "American" before the name "Joseph Opala," that seems very strange. That doesn't add clarification to an article on a pro-democracy NGO in Africa. I would have thought you'd be more likely to highlight phrases like "women's rights," "rule of law," etc. I think readers world-wide know what an American is.
I've changed the entry back to reflect these concerns. And I'm hoping we're not going to play pinpong again... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.126.177.251 (talk) 04:57, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stubs
When you create stubs on political figures, could you not label them as "former" politicians unless you know that they have in fact left the political scene? To take one example, you labeled Kokou Tozoun as a "former Togolese politician and diplomat" [1] when in fact he is still very much active in politics (he was named Minister of Justice earlier this month). Another example: Roland Kpotsra, currently the Permanent Representative of Togo to the United Nations, suffered the same poor fate, condemned to retirement before his time. [2] It appears that you look a simple list of former foreign ministers and, since they aren't foreign ministers anymore, you just assume they are not active in politics or diplomacy in any other capacity. It is hard to understand why you would make that assumption, but please do a little more research when you create these stubs, or at least refrain from baseless assumptions. Also, it would be nice if you could include references with these stubs. Everyking (talk) 01:44, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- I have no idea why you take offense at my request. I'm pointing out inaccuracies that could be more easily prevented than cured. I am the one going around fixing these problems; one would think you could be a little more courteous to me about it, instead of adopting a defensive posture regarding your own errors. Everyking (talk) 01:56, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Chidondo
Chidondo got assassinated. Hence he is in Category:Assassinated Angolan politicians. If he's under that category I feel as though his involvement in political affairs has been addressed and Category:Politicians is unnecessary. Jose João (talk) 00:10, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Ethiopia-geo-stubs
When & where was it decided that this stub was out-of-date? As a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Ethiopia, I knew nothing of this, & am somewhat miffed that no notice about this potential decision was left there. It may look as if that project is moribund, but a number of us are still on Wikipedia & actively working on articles related to Wikipedia. -- llywrch (talk) 16:40, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, migrating from the state-based to the sub-administrative-unit-based category won't work in every case here. The best example I can think of are rivers many of which cross Regional boundries, such as the Germama River which flows through the Oromia, Amhara, & Afar Regions. And if your solution to my concern is apply multiple stub-tags, I should warn you that when I find these, I often revert them to a single yet more general stub category because, frankly speaking, I find multiple stub tags are redundant, if not ugly. -- llywrch (talk) 17:01, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

for renaming to . Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at[edit] AfD nomination of Republic of Kosovo
An editor has nominated Republic of Kosovo, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Republic of Kosovo and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 09:59, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Arménio Ferreira
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Arménio Ferreira, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Arménio Ferreira. Cheers, CP 15:19, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm seriously considering nominating Arménio Ferreira for deletion. I can find very few sources explaining why he might be notable; I don't believe that one source claiming that he was a personal physician and unofficial advisor is significant claim to notability - most national leaders are going to have personal physician, who may act as an unofficial advisor given the intimate nature of their position. I currently see little evidence that the individual meets the standards of WP:BIO, particularly in being extensively covered in independent, third party reliable sources. I don't believe that it's a language issue either, since there doesn't seem to be any foreign language Wikipedias on him. Is there something that I am missing? Cheers, CP 02:11, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

- Well the way I see it, an AFD is a waste of everyone's time if you haven't put a proper effort into trying to establish notability with individuals who might actually have one. In those cases, the sources usually come to the surface anyhow, so why not just have them arrive without the AFD? Anyhow, I was kind of hoping that you spoke Portuguese and could clarify those other sources, haha. Well, I'm in no rush with this at all, so maybe on the weekend I'll take a deeper look at it. For now, there's no reason to rush to deletion. Thanks for the reply! Cheers, CP 15:31, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] DYK apologies
My apologies for not telling you this earlier - I somehow missed out your name in the list of people and articles to credit, and can only assure you that I've not done this before and will take even more care in the future. Thank you for your hard work in getting the article ready for display. Regards, and sorry again. BencherliteTalk 06:12, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Chatsworth Stadium
Hello. I notice you removed the prod template from Chatsworth Stadium. I'm cool with that, but now I'm trying to find some kind of concrete evidence that Chatsworth Stadium is, or rather was, the old Kings Park Soccer Stadium. I'm not sure if you're from Durban, but if you are, you will know that there is a stadium in Chatsworth, a significant distance from Kings Park, where games are still played. If, in fact there are two notable stadia in Durban called 'Chatsworth', I'll swallow my words, but I have the feeling that there in an error somewhere and that this mistake is just being accepted on WP, and any changes or attempts to change it will just be rv because it looks like I'm just trying to delete an entire article, and people don't take kindly to that. I'm happy with keeping Chatsworth Stadium, but I'd like to remove all ties with Kings Park. I'd appreciate some help trying to sort it all out. Please! GetDownAdam (talk) 15:27, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi! I agree about opening up some discussion using the AfD, and I suppose my original prod was a bit premature. I just hope that someone does know something about the Chatsworth Stadium because I get a bit peeved when an article stays a stub for years because someone once thought it was a good idea but no one really knows anything. Thanks for the input though. Its good to know there are others out there. Sometimes it feels like SA articles are neglected compared to other countries. I studied in Cape Town at UCT until last year, and no longer live there, but if you're looking for places to photograph downtown, I would recommend starting at the V&A Waterfront and taking a walk towards the Cable Car (although I wouldn't recommend you go that far!). The CTICC is a rather impressive structure and there are lots of new buildings in that area. Further up towards Long Street, there's also many older government buildings and you'll be very close to Bo-Kaap and Greenmarket Square. And from any of these places you can usually get a pretty impressive shot of Table Mountain with intersting perspective if you include some of the architecture. Also, if you're interested in some investigative reporting, a new development near the 2010 Greenpoint Stadium is De Waterkant. Any local will be able to point you in the right direction. Great restaurants etc. Hope that helps, but if you need more details or sugestions, let me know! GetDownAdam (talk) 11:46, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reverts of redirects
Hi, why did you revert my redirects of religion articles after I merged them? I have been working on the religion articles of various countries around the world for a while (right now mainly in Africa), and I have found that these stub articles on individual groups tend to turn into content forks, with all sorts of contradictory statistics, etc. I think it is a sensible solution to merge them into a main country religion article until the content grows enough to require summary-style sections. This way, any contradictions between sections are apparent and are fixed by editors. Thoughts? Mangostar (talk) 02:46, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Reply
Thanks, I'm trying to create articles for all of the embassies here in Washington, D.C. The next Africa-related articles I'm writing are the embassies of Mauritania, Morocco, Cameroon, Madagascar, and Sierra Leone. I decided to create articles for their ambassadors as well, assuming they automatically are notable because of their position. (I hope) I removed the diplomat template you mentioned from one of the articles, but I'll add it back if you're planning on creating the template. APK yada yada 05:17, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Request to move article Anthony Leon Tucker incomplete
You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page Anthony Leon Tucker to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.
Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:
- Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
- Added {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved, to automatically create a discussion section there.
- Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.
If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 17:30, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Battle of Cassinga
Since you are working on this topic you may want to take a look at the political aftermath section where I added some fact tags. This isn't a topic I know much about but the section looks like it needs sourcing since the claims as made are likely controversial. JoshuaZ (talk) 16:17, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Cuba-Venezuela relations
I am still working on the article and it is quite annoying to edit the article with a bunch of categories and templates. I will remove the templates for now and will readd after finishing the article. Have some patience. Please do not add the templates until I am finishing the article and removing the underconstruction template. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 14:06, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
