Les Thorley is English, born in 1944. Before the age of ten he had spent half his life in Egypt as a result of his father's UK Government assignment to that country.
In his early teens he spent further years overseas, and then joined the British Royal Air Force which he served for 8 years. At the age of 25, by now educated in Surveillance Radar Systems & Radio Communications, he departed the UK for Canada where he worked in Northern Labrador under contract to the USAF. This was followed by four years in Iran, a year in Greece and over three years in Saudi Arabia. Returning to Greece in 1979 he was assigned to the Middle East and North Africa business of his employer (Hewlett-Packard), based in Athens. In late 1982 he was re-assigned to Amsterdam to manage the support business of the Nordic Region, followed by a new assignment in 1985 to Geneva where he was responsible for 75 territories and countries in Europe (including communist East European countries), Africa and the Middle East.
This was followed in 1989 by one year for a Swiss company in Athens before joining a large Greek IT company where he remained until 2001. He departed Greece in 2005 for the UK after forty years of international travel and residence. He now runs his own business in the UK (http://www.t-data.co.uk) and travels overseas for pleasure only.
