David Joseph Carver (aka Thomas Houck)-
Born in 1956 David Joseph Carver is a descendant of James Touchet, Lord Audley, 5th Baron of Audley and Heighley Castle. Ancestors arriving on May Flower in 1620 include Peter Browne, John Alden, and his wife Priscilla Mullins. Many famous Americans also trace their ancestry to these May Flower Passengers. David Carver's ancestors also include Sir Thomas Dutton, son-in-law of James Touchet by marriage to Touchet's daughter Anne. His ancestry is primarily English with additional lines into France and Germany. Sir Thomas Dutton's family owned Dutton Hall which is currently a private school called Stokes Brunswick in England. (Please reference other Wikipedia articles by searching for Lord Audley, Sir Thomas Dutton, and Blore Heath.)
Lord Audley served as a soldier in his early manhood, and fought for King Henry V in the French campaigns of the early 15th century. Lord Audley (born approximately 1398/1400) was a Lancastrian General who commanded approximately 10,000 troops defending the throne of King Henry VI and Queen Margaret of Anjou at the Battle of Blore Heath on 23 September 1459. Lord Audley’s forces were defeated and Audley was killed sometime in the afternoon on that day. Lord Audley married Eleanor de Holland. Eleanor de Holland’s mother was Constance de Holland, great-great grand daughter of Edward III King of England. This line of ancestry traces back to 775AD. The late Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales is also a descendant of Lord Audley.
David Joseph Carver’s coat-of-arms has been based on the coat-of-arms of Lord Audley, Sir Thomas Dutton, and the Carver family coat-of-arms. The fret (Celtic style knot work in gold) is repeated through and is present on the coat-of-arms for the late Sir Winston Churchill and the late Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales both of whom descend from Lord Audley. Other notable descendants of Lord Audley are Thomas Jefferson- second President of the United States, Peter Lawford, Orson Welles and, Franklin Delano Roosevelt- thirty-second President of the United States.
