Thorsteinn M. Jonsson (born February 18, 1963 in Reykjavík, Iceland) was the Chairman of Glitnir Bank and is the current Chairman of Vífilfell hf.[1] (The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Iceland), the Vice-Chairman of FL Group, and a member of the Board of Directors of Refresco Holding BV., 365 hf.[2] and Teymi hf.[3]

Thorsteinn earned a BA degree in Economics (Cand. Oecon) from the University of Iceland and in 1991 an MA in Economics from Northwestern University, Evanston Illinois.

Thorsteinn worked as an economist for the Central Bank of Iceland for four years, followed by two years as Chief Economist for the Federation of Icelandic Industries. In 1996, he was appointed CEO of Vífilfell hf. and in 2001 he led a buy-out of the business and currently holds a majority stake. He was elected Executive Chairman of Vífilfell in 2005. Thorsteinn commenced his career as an active investor in 2000 and currently holds sizeable stakes in various investment vehicles.

In February 2007, he was elected Chairman of Glitnir Bank[4] making him one of the world’s youngest Chairmen of a large international bank.[5]

Thorsteinn lives in Reykjavík and London. He is separated and a father of one.
