Thoroton is a small village located in the parish of Thoroton in Rushcliffe, Nottingham, United Kingdom and lies along the banks of the River Smite. Thoroton has a population of 140 and was granted conservation area status in 1976.

Thoroton is located approximately 10 miles to the east of Nottingham and two miles north west of Bingham. Thoroton is bounded by the A46 three miles to the west, the A1 three miles to the east and the A52 road two miles to the south.
