Thornton Middle School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thornton Middle School is an A5 middle school in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States, near the city of Houston.

It is part of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, one of the largest growing districts in the state of Texas[citation needed]. It teaches 6th ,7th , and 8th grade. The school spirit colors are mostly blue and red. Their mascot is the Patriots. Thornton Middle School feeds into Cypress Springs High School, Langham Creek High School, and eventually Cypress Lakes High School in fall 2008. Thornton's name came from Donald O. Thornton, retired Cypress-Fairbanks ISD superintendent. He served the District for 28 years as a teacher, coach, associate superintendent, and superintendent. He and his wife, Dixie, were well-respected, dedicated employees who helped to shape the direction of the school district.
