Thompson Peak

Thompson Peak is located in the McDowell Mountains 20 miles outside of downtown Phoenix, it is a prominent landmark throughout the valley, and the radio towers on top are owned by Maricopa County, and used mainly for government, and law enforcement communications. This area is accessible to hikers via a 5.1 mile hike through the desert on the service road originating in Fountain Hills. A view of the whole area is available from Piestewa Peak.
