Thomas and Friends - Season 6

Thomas and Friends (previously known as Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends) is a children's television series about the engines and other characters working on the railways of the Island of Sodor, and is based on The Railway Series of books written by Rev. W. Awdry.

This article lists and details episodes from the sixth season of this series, which was first broadcast in 2002. This season is narrated by Michael Angelis, and he and Alec Baldwin re-narrated the episodes for American audiences. Michael Brandon renarrated this season in 2005.

Cranky gets little rest, and is very annoyed when Bill and Ben pass by. He becomes so irritated that he knocks a shed onto the line and has to listen to the twins and Salty all night.

Salty, a dockyard diesel, comes to work on Sodor, but is disappointed that he has to work in a quarry. The other quarry engines soon find he has a way with trucks.

A crane engine called Harvey comes to Sodor on trial, but he is shunned by the other engines due to his unusual appearance and this makes upset until Percy has an accident with some Trucks. 
134 "A Bad Day for Harold the Helicopter"  August 10, 2002
Harold boasts that he can take the mail much faster than Percy could, and he has a chance to prove himself when Percy gets stuck at a broken signal.

One of Thomas’ side rods breaks while he is taking a special. His crew journeys to a nearby farm looking for a telephone, but instead they find an old steam lorry.

In the winter, Cyril the fogman always places detonators in the misty valley to warn engines of fog, but he is replaced by a new mechanical foghorn.

Thomas delivers an eager front-leader named Jack to an excavation site, but Jack has a tendency to try jobs that he is not suited to.

Jack joins Miss Jenny’s crew in excavating the land under an old railway bridge, but Ned the steam shovel is careless and knocks a keystone away.

Thomas hates to take his snowplough during the winter, but he cheers up when he gets to take a Christmas Tree to the village with Toby.

Donald and Douglas have an accident crashing into a cart of hay, and afterwards they refuse to work with each other. 
141 "The World’s Strongest Engine"  August 27, 2002
Henry is sent for repairs after an accident with some trucks, and Diesel is brought to the docks to take Henry’s train. The encourage Diesel to take them all at the same time and prove himself to be the world’s strongest engine.

It is Halloween, and Edward is telling a scary story about the ghost engine. Thomas teases Percy at the smelters for being scared, but Duck sympathizes with Percy. 
143 "Percy and the Haunted Mine"  September 6, 2002
Percy is very frightened when he passes an old mine at night and sees some buildings collapse. He is even more scared when Donald and Douglas tell him about the “naughty gnomes”.

None of the engines like to be in the middle of a train, so ‘Arry and Bert enjoy putting steam engines in the middle. This causes trouble for Percy, but James is convinced that he can outsmart the diesels.

When Thomas delivers a hot air balloon to the airfield, he and James become convinced that it could take away their passengers.

James and Percy have to deliver coal around the Island to prepare for a big freeze, but Percy becomes frightened by the thought of “Scary Jack Frost”.

Gordon doesn’t feel that it would be dignified for an express engine to pull trucks, but when Salty teases him, Gordon is determined to show him how an express engine pulls trucks.

Due to a water shortage, Percy can’t get a proper wash-down, and so he tries to take several jobs where he is sure he won’t become dirty.

Bill is jealous when his twin Ben gets a brand new set of buffers, and he starts to become careless in his work at the quarry.

During the winter, Toby is flagged down by a farmer who needs a vet to examine his lambs on the other side of the hill. Duck tries to clear away the snow, but it becomes too thick for him to plow.

Thomas is assigned to take opera singer Alicia Botti from the docks, meaning that he gets to be cleaned before Percy. On the way, Thomas notices a squeak coming from his coaches.

Gordon boasts how much faster he is than the other engines, and Thomas wishes that he could show Gordon up as he goes to collect a jet engine from the docks.

The big engines say that Edward is too old, so Duck comes to take Edward’s trucks. Later, Gordon is convinced that he can bank a train up the hill even while carrying his own. 
154 "Dunkin' Duncan"  October 9, 2002
Duncan is impatient while working at the slate mines, annoying the other engines. He then tries to do his job faster and gets tangled in the coupling of an empty truck on the incline. 
155 "Rusty Saves the Day"  October 11, 2002
Skarloey and Rheneas’ old line is too battered for them to run on, but Rusty has a plan to repair the line when the quarry is briefly closed down. 
156 "Faulty Whistles"  October 13, 2002
When a branch knocks away Peter Sam’s whistle, Duncan teases him, and boasts that any proper engine has a whistle. To prove his point, Duncan starts whistling loudly, but it comes loose while he is delivering an organ.
