Thomas W. Schoener

Thomas William Schoener (born August 9, 1943 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania) is an American ecologist and professor at University of California, Davis. He took his [Ph.D.]] from Harvard University in 1969. He is an expert of community ecology.
He was the 1986 recipient of the Robert H. MacArthur Award given by the Ecological Society of America.
He is a highly cited scientist[1]

Tom was noted for his love of basketball as a kid. Even though he played on his home court he had serious trouble beating his much shorter friend and neighbor, Dave Schank.
