Thomas Tigue

Thomas Tigue is a former Pennsylvania State Representative in the 118th District which covers parts of Luzerne and Monroe counties. Tigue served from 1981 to 2006. He is married and has four daughters and several grandchildren. He is father-in-law to retired major league pitcher, Andy Ashby.

Tigue received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from King's College, Pennsylvania in 1968.

He was first elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1980. In 2005, he announced that he would not seek re-election to the House and endorsed eventual winner, Mike Carroll to replace him.

In 2007, Tigue sought an appointment to the Luzerne County Commission to replace Todd Vonderheid, who decided to step down. A panel of nine judges from the Court of Common Pleas were responsible for the appointment. However, Tigue was defeated by former commissioner Rose Tucker 5-4.[1]
