Born in 1955, Thomas Sinclair was the recipient of the prestigious Rhodes Scholar award in 1974 during his final year at Knox Grammar School in Sydney, Australia. He did not attend University; instead, he spent 2 years researching and writing his comprehensive thesis on 'Industrial Technology: A Changing Face' - which is still used as a reference today by many training schools across NSW.
Using only his textbooks from Secondary School as a guide, he later formed J & T Sinclair Company, a small business based in Essex, UK, which grew to its financial peak in 1982, containing branches in New York City and Iowa. In March 1985, Multi-national corporation JP Morgan bought the business from him, and Thomas once again returned to Australia.
Thomas continued working in business ventures, most notably in the Australian Music Industry, holding the role of Executive Producer of Triple J Radio broadcasting in 1991 and 1992. He himself has claimed to have 'discovered' the now-popular Australian band Grinspoon, After watching them play at a small pub in Lismore six months before winning the Triple J 'Unearthed' competition.
Thomas retired in 2005 and currently resides in his Wahroonga home with his wife, Hannah, and children, Ben and Tony.
