Thomas Robb is the national director of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan,[1] and a Baptist preacher.[2]
Born in Detroit, Michigan and later moving to Tucson, Arizona, with his family when he was a young man, Robb claims to have became politically active when he was 17 years old, speaking out against Communism. In the late 1990s he was the subject of the documentary New Klan by journalist Jon Ronson.
Robb claims to defend a harmless organization,[3] and to preach a message of “love, not hate”, to reverse some of the negative image he feels the Klan has been given. When featured in the PBS documentary Banished, Robb compared a Klan hood to a businessman's tie, claiming that "it's just tradition".[4] However, Robb supports white supremacy and is firmly against “race mixing”, which he calls “Satanic”.
In 2006 Robb's organization posted a message on its website supporting a bill by Marilyn Musgrave that would offer help for home schooled students.[5]
