Thomas Ramsay

Thomas Bridgehill Wilson Ramsay (2 July 1877 – 20 October 1956) was a Scottish Liberal Party and National Liberal Party politician and Member of Parliament (MP).
He was an usuccessful National Liberal candidate in the Glasgow Shettleston constituency at the 1922 general election.
Ramsay was elected on his next attempt, as a Liberal candidate in the Western Isles constituency at the 1929 general election. When the Labour Ramsay Macdonald formed a National Government in 1931, Ramsay was one of the Liberal MPs who broke with his party to support the coalition. He held his seat at the 1931 general election against a Conservative opponent.
At the 1935 general election, no Liberal candidate stood against him, but he was defeated by Labour's Malcolm Macmillan. He did not stand for election again.
