Thomas Mignone is an American feature film and music video director. Mignone is best known for directing music videos for hard rock and heavy metal artists such as Cradle of Filth, Type O Negative, Mudvayne, Slipknot, System of a Down, Sepultura, Danzig, Megadeth, Superjoint Ritual, Fear Factory, Soulfly, Kittie and others. In 2001, his music video for Mudvayne's song "Dig" won the MTV Award and was the first to feature heavy metal artists in vibrant, brightly-lit and color-saturated images, in sharp contrast to the dark, shadowy videos typical of the genre. His video for Sepultura's "Roots" was filmed in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the hometown of vocalist Max Cavaliera and contrasted the group's intense hard rock performance with strikingly beautiful images of capoiera dancers, timbalada musicians, and other traditional Brazilian scenes. Mignone's videos are characterized by strong narrative conceptual storylines, many times featuring film actors in lead roles. In 2007, Mignone wrote and directed the feature film "On The Doll" starring actors Brittany Snow, Josh Janowicz, and Theresa Russell. The title refers to the phrase "Show me on the doll where he touched you", which is often asked of children who have been victimized by molestors. Mignone lives and works in Los Angeles, and continues directing feature films and music videos.
