Thomas John (Tom) Miller (b. 1944, Dubuque, Iowa) is a lawyer and the current Attorney General of the state of Iowa. He served as the state's Attorney General from 1978 until 1990, when he ran for governor; however, he failed to obtain the Democratic Party's nomination. Miller was elected as Attorney General once again in 1994 and re-elected in 1998, 2002, and 2006. He is not related to the Iowa Deputy Attorney General Thomas Henry Miller. Miller and the Iowa State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald announced an early endorsement of Illinois U.S. Senator Barack Obama for President on February 11th, 2007.[1]
