The Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Architecture is presented for notable achievement in design or for distinguished contributions to the field of architecture. The award has been made annually since its establishment in 1966. The award is granted jointly by the Thomas Jefferson Foundation and the University of Virginia School of Architecture. Along with the Thomas Jefferson Medal in Law, the awards are the highest outside honors offered by the University, which does not grant honorary degrees.
