[edit] Fictional character biography
Tommy Jagger was introduced in the first issue of the second incarnation of Checkmate. He is the Knight of the White King, Mr. Terrific. Tommy is the son of Hadley "Rip" Jagger, the first Judomaster, who was killed in the battle of Metropolis when the supervillain Bane broke his back[1].
Tommy ultimately encounters his father's killer when he and Fire are sent on a mission to Bane's home country of Santa Prisca. He fights Bane in order to allow Fire to escape, defeating him, but chooses not to kill him[2].
[edit] Sexuality
In Checkmate #9 Tommy states that he is gay when a stripper offers him a lap dance. This is later restated in Checkmate #14.
