Thomas Gascoigne

Thomas Gascoigne was born on the 7th January 1786. He was the owner of the mines in the Aberford and Garforth area. He had 2 daughters, Isabella and Elizabeth Gascoigne. He died either the 13th October 1809 or on the 20th October 1809. He suffered from a fatal accident whilst hunting and died. He was buried on the 28th October 1809 at Barwick and Elmet and over 2,000 people and over 400 of his father's tenants attended his funeral.

He was the owner of Lotherton Hall Estate in Aberford.
