Thomas E. Gaddis (September 14, 1908 - October 10, 1984) was a United States author, most noted for his book Birdman of Alcatraz. Thomas E. Gaddis was born in Denver, Colorado. He wrote many non-fiction books that were mostly biographies. He wrote books like Birdman of Alcatraz or Killer: A Journal of Murder. He died in Portland, Oregon on October 10, 1984 at age 76, He was acted by Edmond O'Brien in the 1962 film Birdman of Alcatraz
