[edit] 2008 Coaster

In a recent question and answer session, this question was asked: "in the future is there going to be any more rides like Air in Alton Towers?" The response was: "With regards to the future, Air is a first class ride and something similar would fit in nicely at Thorpe Park but there are also numerous other coaster concepts to look at."

The rumours of this coaster being a flyer are uncomfirmed and the above official response suggests that it will not be, for these reasons I have removed the section suggesting the 2008 coaster will be a B&M Flyer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jackqu7 (talkcontribs) Removed section about some blokes spam plans. Absolute rubbish, so removed.

Regarding additions of user: 82.43.154.64 on 01/04/2007. Is this information confirmed anywhere else and should this be removed? Rexcentum 18:55, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Some rides

Is it true that a miniture golf course and bumper cars were removed to make way for the new rides in Lost City? (Just that they aren't mentioned on the timeline) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chocology (talk • contribs)

The Bumper Cars Were Removed But Was Located Nr. The Entrance Dome So Was Not Removed To Make Way For Lost City And In The Same Year The Mini Golf Was Removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.136.122.176 (talk • contribs)

The dodgems were called "Dare Devil Drivers" and were situated in a domed tent-like building where Zodiac now stands. Their final season in the park was 2000.193.35.248.7 (talk) 11:51, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Some rides

The following removed because it is unconfirmed.

    • A new drop tower will be placed on the current site of Amity Games. The drop tower is likely to be an Intamin gyro/mega drop (as these models have a very high capacity). Or, like Detonator, a Fabri drop tower with a higher capacity. The ride is likely to be no higher than roughly 130ft. Quicksilver shop located in Amity has already been re-themed for the new drop tower, with the name 'Amity shop and drop'. The reason for building another drop tower is due to Detonator's success, but as Detonator has a low capacity and as park numbers increase, the park thought it would be a good idea to introduce a second drop tower to ease queue times.

[edit] Question

Doeas anyone know Which year was Phantom Phantasia renamed The Wicked Witches Haunt?

1994

Excellent Thanks! (a;lso any idea why the name was changed? user:Guru Larry

Is the addition of the breakdance confirmed anywhere? Also why use Rodeo from CwoA because they removed the ride there as it was so difficult and expensive to maintain?

Very little. Rodeo has been sold from the Tussauds group.

Also can anyone remember the name of the "ride" or area that had the wacky bicycles that had steering wheels and steered weird? (it was where the old crocks cars moved to for a while on the hill) user:Guru Larry

[edit] Project Hawk

User 82.44.225.61 is repeatedly replacing the same phrase:

Project 'Hawk' is not the project name for this, as the name Project 'Hawk' was made up by Phill Caudell.

Not only that, but in bold.

82.44.225.61, before you 'undo' another revision without a word of explanation, please explain here why you think this is so relevant - I'm not the only user that has removed this phrasing.

It seems to me that you are trying to force-add a phrase that makes little sense, and is pointless. You might as well say "Project 'La La' is not the name for this..." - there are 1001 things that aren't the name for this.

Please, either reword it to make sense, or let it be removed. Repeated replacement without justification could be seen as vandalism. TheIslander 20:09, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New future developments

Hello, I just added some major information I recieved today from one of my manangers, what is there is 99% or 100% happening unless I get told different, I will inform you. I can't reveal much about my source but I work at TP and well we are preparing for 2008 season straight away. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.40.188.132 (talk) 22:00, August 20, 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but word of mouth is not a good enough reference for Wikipedia. Unless you can cite a decent, reliable reference within 24 hours, I'll remove your contributions again (assuming of course that they're not removed beforehand by another editor). Please see WP:V. Thank you, TheIslander 22:03, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry but the information, you islander put on the tp wiki, where did you get your information from, how are we sure that your'es isn't word of mouth too. At leasts im putting valuable information on.

You said "At this time it is unknown what will be the new ride or attraction for 2008. Rumours are that a possible second Detonator tower will be installed next to the original tower to increase throughput. A Disko ride is also being looked into as another possibility. There are also unconfirmed reports that Thorpe Park may get one of Alton Tower's thrill rides for the 2008 season, however this has been seen to be unlikely. The Tussauds brand will also be dropped by the end of the 2008 season in favour of the Merlin Entertainmets brand". What you said, Islander are rumours too and what makes your information more important than mine.

It talks of educational talks but whose to say that what you say aren't rumours too, you obviously think what you say is better than my info and you even admitted about the second tower are rumours too.

And you say that what I say is not good enough for Wiki, well neither is yours when you talk of rumours too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.40.188.132 (talk) 12:21, 21 August 2007

If instead of devising insults you took a look at the edit history, you'd see that I haven't added any of my own information, merely restored it to the condition it was in before you contributed. TheIslander 17:00, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Future Developments

Further to my comments above, I've noticed that actually the entire 'Future Developments' section is completely, 100% unsourced. Seems like complete speculation to me. Per WP:CBALL, I'll remove the lot in 24 hours if nothing turns up. After that, feel free to replace with appropriate citations. TheIslander 20:34, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Done. As stated, feel free to replace the lot, but only if you can provide appropriate citations. TheIslander 20:26, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

And yahtzee - the planning is here. go to Here to look at the planning, so i have put it back.

[edit] Referencing

This article is full of opinion and original research. I think it would be a good idea for any regular editors to list their sources for the facts in the article, else a lot of it will end up being deleted. The best bet would be to use {{cite web}} and hopefully we can whip the article into shape! Seaserpent85Talk 00:45, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fright Night section

Just a warning that I'm prepared to remove all of the unsourced statements in here if nothing has changed by tomorrow. I don't want to see it gone, but the majority of the section will never be citable. Seaserpent85Talk 15:40, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Map

The rumba rapids seems to have been completely omitted from the Map. Could somebody who happens to have a park map fix this?UKWikiGuy (talk) 15:22, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 2008 timeline

The 2008 section of the timeline is currently not there and the park is open, is 2008 that important to you. So this is a message to all users that usually edit the thorpe park page. --Omegace (talk) 09:25, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
