The reason given for the speedy is that this 'is an article about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or website' which doesn't assert the importance or significance of the subject. Which of those categories does Thornton come into exactly? Thornton is a village, a community, and Wikipedia precedent seems to indicate that any such place is automatically notable.
