Talk:Thomson's Translation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- Thompson's was the first English translation of the Septuagint published, and was considered by British biblical scholars to represent the best in American scholarship.
When I read that, I started laughing. In all honesty, I don't know what that means, given that British scholars often had little respect for American scholarship, often for good reasons. Does this mean they gave it grudging respect, but it still wasn't up to British standards? --Prosfilaes 02:03, 13 August 2005 (UTC)
