Talk:Thomas Vien/Comments

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thank you for your information on Thomas Vien. As the grandson of his cousin, I can possibly add a little more. He was twice knighted in Belgium by both King Leopold 1 and King Leopold 2 of Belgium. He was a lieutenant colonal and the commanding officer of the east coast artillary. He formed one of the divisions of the royal canadian vandoos in levi, quebec. He was an honorary member of the national geographic society. He was a lifetime member of the canadian house of commons and retired in 1968 or 69 due to ill health. He was also a senior partner in another law firm which involved the last name Trudeau. Being that he was a liberal, I wonder if the Trudeau in that law firm was...you guessed it...Pierre Elliott Trudeau? He was the president of the banking committee and the president of the finance committee of the house of commons. Could he have had some sort of influence on liberal Prime ministers from Pierre Trudeau to Jean Chretien? Again, thank you for the information.....Donald H.J.Vien
