The part about the History Club not using the auxillary gym for the food drives is pertinent information vis a vis the over-arching efforts of the Pittsburgh WikiProject. This information intends to be included once proper documentation that this gym has never been used for said purpose can be produced unequivocally.

There was a lot of unclear information, so i clarified as well as adding some well needed quotation marks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Staciitugwell (talk • contribs) 04:12, 7 December 2006 (UTC).

This has been clearly vandalized and therefore I suggest that the page be majorly re-edited. Bruddah iz 00:14, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] March 2007 re-edit

Due to the high amount of trivia and vandalism, I will shortly be doing a major cut job on this page. If you have any reason to beleive any items should be retained note them here on the talk page, or make sure they are properly cited. – Paschmitts 20:13, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

OK, anonymous editor 192.101.80.14 (talk · contribs) did a good job of cutting out the junk. Thanx. I've continued by reducing it a bit more, wikilinking and moving stuff to the infobox.
I think we've now got a good base for building a great article about TJ. Anyone adding to this article, please start with a look at WikiProject Schools' article structure recommendations and stick with those. – Paschmitts 20:13, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Concerns over citations

There have been numerous concerns raised on here regarding the validity of information. I, thusly, propose that all information be properly cited.

It should be noted that much of the information assumed to be factual (since it has been on this page for some time) is actually false (e.g. the school newspaper is actually called "The Patriot" and the football team won the championship in 2003 not 2004). I believe this original information was planted by the group of vandals and been intentionally miscommunicated by them ever since.

I have changed information to reflect true facts (having been a student here in the mid 1990's) and demand citations be provided for all new information. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 128.122.114.199 (talk) 20:23, 9 April 2007 (UTC).

Do we have any citations for some of the facts stated on the main page? I do know the paper was called the Patriot during my time there, but I'm guess it's changed since then. Also, the literary magazine was noted as solely run by the students, which is why I removed the part saying there is a faculty advisor. Perhaps there is an advisor now but I can't find references.

I do know the band was not Band of the Week in 1998 because I was in the band that year and it was not true (our rival West Mifflin was). I'm unsure of the Band of the Year in 2006, but left it in as I have no grounds to contest it. I was incorrect on my assumption that TJ won regionals in 2003, a website affirms it was 2004. But I am still concerned much of the other information could have been placed by the vandals. --TomNolder 15:59 19 April 2007

[edit] Vandalism

I've been hearing a lot of talk at this school lately of our so called "article" (if it can even be referred to as one!) and the delight people seem to take in making our school look bad, and quite frankly, I'm appaled! It's bad enough we have bomb threats, but it's much worse that our school has to be publically humiliated on wikipedia! From what I've read, you "people" (if your actions even qualify you to be called that!) have insulted, ridiculed and tormented Chris Griswold and Paschmitts. They're doing us a great service by making an online article about our school, and your ungrateful actions embarass me! I'm sorry for the way people in my school have been acting, and I'd like to apologize on behalf of them since they'll never do it on their own. Chris Griswold and Paschmitts, I'd like to help get this article back on track and show these vandals that they might be able to win Snowball King and be Valo Dictorian, but they will never ruin the great internet image our school is proud to gain and maintain. Peace. -Allthewaytj-

I'm hoping the protections set up help keep this page from vandalism. I attended TJ in the mid 90s and it's really great to see the school doing so well now. I'll be adding more contributions as I have time, though I've removed a few spurious pieces of information and added some information I feel is quite notable. --TomNolder, 15:49 19 April 2007

PHEW! I finally got that picture of the school up there. I had trouble figuring out how to upload the image, and when i finally did, IT WAS TOO BIG!!! I messed with it a bit, and now it's looking good. Sorry for all the edits on that, but you learn by making mistakes. --Allthewaytj

[edit] Hmm

The vandalism has been incredibly annoying. I'm hoping to make this page a bit better. Glad to see some work was done on it, though I don't think the vandalism could be totally blocked. You know the way some people are. Rather annoying - I'm a freshman at this school and hate how people are making it look bad. Maybe it just bothers me as a longtime (anonymous) editor here. At one point there was ridiculous amount of vandalism coming from the school's computers. I might be a bit crazy, but the immaturity of these people does make me quite mad. Anyway, I'll be trying to improve this article further, but there doesn't seem to be much to cite. I'll try. 67.165.73.54 23:08, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
