Description

Thomas Burke, unsuccessful candidate in 1910 to succeed Senator Samuel H. Piles as Washington state's U.S. senator.

Burke was one of Seattle's most prominent citizens of his era, known not only as a lawyer, sometime judge, and political figure, but also for his role in the development of the school system and as a real estate developer.
