[edit] Welcome!

Hello, Thljcl, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your willingness to contribute. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Don't forget to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~), which automatically produces your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Regarding your edits at Kinetic energy, reinstating an edit which has been reverted is called an "edit war" and is frowned upon. Instead, you should give a valid reason for your edit at Talk:Kinetic energy. If you fail to provide such a reason, I will revert it again. Again, welcome! -- Meni Rosenfeld (talk) 16:14, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kinetic energy

I have already warned you about making questionable edits repeatedly without explanation. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. -- Meni Rosenfeld (talk) 09:50, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

I do not agree that mass is a form of energy. Take a look at the two forms of the energy, kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy. On the surface of earth, acceleration due to gravity (g) remains constant. An object will lose it kinetic energy when it rises up. At the same time it will gain its gravitational potential energy. At the same height, when it free falls (neglecting the air resistance), it will exactly regains the same amount of kinetic energy before it fall on the earth. What about mass? Is it a form of energy? Basically not. However, the amount of energy of a matter is the amount of mass. We can simply perform the calculation with the mass-energy equivalence equation. When a object accelerate to a certain speeds, it will surely gains it kinetic energy. At the same time, it will gain the mass. The mass I mentioned is relativistic mass, not rest mass. We can assumes the object is a system of particles. The rest mass of the system is simply the total energy of the system when we assumes the whole system is at rest, but the particles in it may not. When we add up all the rest mass of the particle in the system, the sum of masses may not be rest mass of the system. It will be if the particles remain at rest relative to the centre of the system. (Pratically impossible as electron and photon will never remain at rest.) If the mass is a form of energy, kinetic energy and mass will not appear at the same time. The rest mass of the system however is the sum of relativistic mass. When certain amount of photons are absorbed, we find that the rest mass of the system is increased. So, the light energy is converted into mass? Let we assume all the light energy is converted into the kinetic energy of the particles. When the kinetic energy of the particles increased, the rest mass of the system will surely increase. Energy is still energy. Mass is still mass. In conclusion, all forms of energy exhibits mass. They are identical and equivalence. Mass is energy, but it is not a form of energy.

I have continued this at Talk:Kinetic energy. -- Meni Rosenfeld (talk) 06:32, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi Thljcl. I don't quite understand your framework for claiming that "all forms of energy exhibits mass," or that "mass is energy, but it is not a form of energy." Perhaps you mean, correctly, that it is the energy of an object (and not its mass) that is acted upon by gravity. Ultimately, your system of definitions may be self-consistent and give correct answers; however, it is not the way the terms are defined in the physics literature. Since Wikipedia is a secondary source, our material should reflect usage in the existing literature; to include new interpretations is not allowed under the policy Wikipedia:No original research. Let me know if you have any questions about this. -- SCZenz 21:01, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Skype 3.6 Beta.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Skype 3.6 Beta.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] April 2008

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate your contributions, such as those in Vegeta, but we regretfully cannot accept original research. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thanks for your efforts, and happy editing! Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:31, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I have watched GT, but that wasn't my point. WP:REF teaches you everything there is to know about citing sources. BTW, there is a discussion going on over here regarding sources. Have you read it? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:15, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
What do you mean? Please reply on your talk page so the conversation can take place in one location (I am watching this page). Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:20, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I am not a native English speaker. I will try to make myself clear. For example, Rou Dai Kaioshin helps Goku to regrow his tail. I will probably state the particular episode of GT where Goku regrows his tail under the references. Thljcl (talk) 21:24, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

But you know how to write in anime refs? (They're a little different than manga refs). Remember, List of Blood+ characters might be of some help for you. Thoughts? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:28, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, I don't see much if not any difference between manga refs and anime refs. Perhaps you can tell me. By the way, why don't you cite the sources? Don't you have a copy of Dragon Ball GT? I don't mind to cite the sources as requested. I guess you want me to be responsible for my editing Thljcl (talk) 21:35, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I would add the references, but don't own the DVDs. Unfortunately, manga is all I got, and some of the Dragon Ball anime. It might be good for you to do the sourced edits yourself ("teach a man to fish", etc). Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. I will do it as soon as possible. Thljcl (talk) 22:23, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Don't mention it ;) Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:48, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
