This Present Darkness is Chimaira's EP debut. Two of the songs, "Painting the White to Grey", and "Sphere" were re-recorded on Pass Out of Existence. The EP is said to be a lot rawer than the modern day Chimaira. The recording allowed Chimaira to become signed to Roadrunner Records and later release their debut album Pass Out of Existence. This album was later re-released as a remastered version with two bonus tracks that was previously unreleased, and without Satan's Wizard. This release came with the The Dehumanizing Process DVD
