"This Is the Right Time" is a song by British singer Lisa Stansfield, released during the summer of 1989 from her first album, Affection. The song became her first single to reach the UK singles chart, where it reached #13 and remained on the chart for eight weeks. In the U.S., the single was released in the fall of 1990, where it peaked at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also reached #1 on the American dance chart, her second song to top this chart ("All Around the World" had gone to #1 on the dance chart earlier in 1990).
