Thiruthangal is a panchayat town in Virudhunagar district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Thiruthangal is also one among the 108 Dhivya Desams also known as Thirupathis. It is 2 kilometers away from the industrial town of sivakasi known for its printing and fireworks industries.

As of 2001 India census[1], Thiruthangal had a population of 49,142. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Thiruthangal has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74%, and female literacy is 58%. In Thiruthangal, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Thiruthangal is one among the largest exporter of fire crackers all over the country and abroad. Thiruthangal is also famous for the hardworking of people. This place is also called "Kutti japan"
