Thirsk railway station serves the town of Thirsk in North Yorkshire, England. The station is 36 km (22¼ miles) north of York on the East Coast Main Line. The station is about 2 km (1.5 miles) outside the town centre.

There are four tracks all with platforms, however the centre pair of platforms facing the fast lines are fenced off and out of use. This can be seen on satellite imagery. The railway station is operated by TransPennine Express. Other trains services are provided by the open-access operator Grand Central Railway.

There is generally an hourly service northbound to Middlesbrough and southbound to York and beyond (usually Manchester Airport). Some northbound Newcastle TransPennine services also stop at Thirsk as well as Grand Central Railway services between London Kings Cross and Sunderland.

Sundays there generally an two-hourly service towards Middlesbrough and York.

1847 permanent water tower to be built.

1867 an accident occurred near the station.

1870 another accident.

1875 another accident.

1879 another accident.

1882 accident.

1954 The first four carriages of the "Heart of Midlothian" express from King's Cross to Edinburgh comprised of 13 coaches derailed. The four carriages derailed after problems with signalling and points, no one was injured.

1967 A goods wagon derailed which led to a collision with an express, no one was injured.
