Thirsk School and Sixth Form College

Thirsk School and Sixth Form College is a secondary school located in Sowerby, a village adjoining Thirsk, North Yorkshire, England. The headteacher, Mr. Christopher Lewis, retires in July 2008 after nearly 28 years as headteacher at the school. Fully comprehensive and a specialist school in Maths & Computing, otherwise known as a Mathematics and Computing College. The school has nearly 1200 students, including about 180 students in the sixth form.
It was considered a "thoroughly good school with some outstanding features" by Ofsted [1] when it last visited (January 2008).
