Thierry Delva (Born 1955 in Deinze, Belgium) is a Canadian sculptor living in Prospect, Nova Scotia.
He is a master stone mason, and his early work involved stone carving and cutting. [1] His more recent work comprises plaster, iron and bronze casts everyday containers.
Delva graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in 1993 with a Masters in Fine Arts and has taught at NSCAD University in the Sculpture department since 1994.
His first exhibition was at the Mount Saint Vincent University Art Gallery in 1990.[2] Group shows include "Manifest" at the Sir Wilfred Grenfell College Art Gallery (1998),[3] "Container: New Canadian Wave of Minimalism" at Real Art Ways, Hartford, Connecticut,[4][5] and "Pictured: Image & Object in Canadian Sculpture" at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (2007/8)[6]
He has participated in a symposium at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College.[7]
