Thief is a popular interface for Internet Chess Servers such as the Free Internet Chess Server and the Internet Chess Club. It was programmed substantially by Zon Jan (WhoAmI) and optimized for bughouse support. Its extensive list of bughouse-related features include notably FICS-ear, a customizable set of buttons that allows a player to quickly send commonly-used messages to his partner with the click of the mouse. It is also known to be one of the fastest interfaces, supporting true premoving and other speedy features.

The software was named "Thief" because a large portion of the program's source code was scavenged from other interfaces.
